AIGAS — BRAND KIT
=================

The AIGAS logo, shield mark and Bronze certification seal, and the rules for using them.
The current version of these rules is always at https://<AIGAS_DOMAIN>/press

WHAT IS IN HERE
---------------
svg/ The masters. Every wordmark is outlined to paths, so they render correctly
on any machine with no fonts installed. Use these wherever you can.
png/ Transparent, at 512, 1024 and 2048 px on the longest edge.
jpg/ Flattened onto white, at 2048 px. Only where transparency is refused.
email-signature/ The lockup at 360 x 104, the size an email signature wants.

"Light" names the INK, not the background. aigas-logo-white-ink.svg is the WHITE lockup and
it is for DARK backgrounds. If a logo has disappeared, you have almost certainly used the
other one.

There is no white-ink JPEG. That lockup is white, and a JPEG cannot be transparent — it would
have to bake in a dark ground, and on any other dark ground that becomes a box around the
logo. Use the PNG.

PERMISSION
----------
Journalists and partners may use the AIGAS logo and the shield mark to refer to AIGAS.
A certified firm may use them, and the Bronze seal, to show that it holds a current
certificate. Reproduce every mark exactly as supplied.

CLEAR SPACE
-----------
Leave a margin of 25% of the placed height on all four sides.
Nothing enters that space: no type, no rule, no second logo, no edge of the page.

Lockup at 260 px wide (75 px tall) ...... 19 px
Shield mark at 40 px wide (45 px tall) .. 12 px
Bronze seal at 96 px ................... 24 px
  Signature file at 360 x 104 px ......... 26 px

MINIMUM SIZES
-------------
  Full lockup ..... 200 px wide / 58 px tall ... 55 mm wide / 16 mm tall
  Shield mark ..... 24 px wide / 27 px tall ... 8 mm wide / 9 mm tall
  Bronze seal ..... 96 px ... 25 mm

Below the lockup's minimum, do not shrink it. Use the shield mark instead — that is what the
shield mark is for.

BACKGROUNDS AND CONTRAST
------------------------
Two lockups, one question: how dark is the background?

  Navy-ink lockup ... on #f2f6fb (--ink-100) or lighter
  White-ink lockup ... on #305fa3 (--ink-500) or darker
Between the two ... neither lockup. Use the shield mark, or set the lockup on a plain
                        white panel.

Every part of a mark must reach 3:1 against the background behind it (WCAG 2.2, 1.4.11 —
a logo is non-text content). On a light ground the limiting element is not the wordmark, it
is the teal second line.

Do not drop a mark straight onto a photograph. Put it on a solid panel, or on a flat area of
the image that clears 3:1 across the whole mark — not only the part you happened to check.

WHAT NOT TO DO
--------------
 1. Do not recolour. The navy and the teal are the mark. There is no mono version, no
single-colour version, and no version in your own brand colours.
 2. Do not stretch or squash. Scale both dimensions together. If it does not fit, use a
different mark, not a distorted one.
 3. Do not rotate. The mark sits level. It never tilts and it never runs up the edge of a page.
 4. Do not add effects. No drop shadow, no glow, no bevel, no outline, no gradient of your own.
 5. Do not re-typeset the wordmark. The letters are drawn shapes, not live text. Never set
"AIGAS" in another face and stand it beside the shield.
 6. Do not box it in. No keyline, no rounded container, no plate behind it. If a mark needs a
box to be legible, the background is wrong — change the background.
 7. Do not put the navy lockup on navy. It vanishes. This is the mistake the filenames invite:
on a dark ground, use the white-ink lockup.
 8. Do not alter the seal. Not the metal, not the ring, not the wordmark, not the tier. There
is one Bronze seal and it looks like this.

THE BRONZE SEAL IS A CREDENTIAL, NOT DECORATION
-----------------------------------------------
- The seal states that a firm holds a current AIGAS Bronze certificate. Only a firm that
  holds one may display it.
- If your certificate expires, lapses or is revoked, take the seal off your website, your
email signatures, your proposals and your printed material.
- Show the seal alongside your certificate number, and link it to your entry on the public
register, so anyone can check it.
- Everyone else — journalists, partners, suppliers, software vendors — uses the logo or the
  shield mark. Never the seal.
